This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have eight wonderful students that also have autism. My students are very motivated to learn and are a pleasure to teach. My students are very kind and respectful gentlemen. They strive to do their best on a daily basis. Unfortunately economic district wide hardships create difficulties at providing them with reliable printers. We use a learning program via the internet called Unique which is great when all the tools are available. Unique will be a valuable tool to help my students learn and grow.
My Project
Printing material from the Unique system are critical for me to provide students with reading and comprehension assignments. Unique was designed by the LAUSD school district as an alternate curriculum to provide students with disabilities a great curriculum. Unique is internet based which requires a print heavy system. There is an abundance of information and literature that can be printed and utilized to improve the students reading and comprehension skills. With out a working printer many of the assignments cannot make the required impact on the students. My students learn best by utilizing modified assignments and pictures that offer alternate ways of learning vocabulary.
