My Students
My students want to learn and read, yet society has told them that they are not important enough. In my classroom, reading becomes an experience that teaches my students about the human condition and life! Through reading engaging, relevant YA books, students in my classes discover their significance and how the world works around them. Moreover, reading transports my students and assuages the stigmatic tribulations in today's society while revealing to them why they are unique! Although disenfranchised by others, my students know at the end of the year how magnanimous and intelligent they are!
My Project
With your help, my disenfranchised, yet courageous readers will have the resources they need to achieve success in literacy and college/career readiness! Donations will make a difference in my students' learning by impacting students' life!

Research states that the reason that teenagers do not read is because they do not have the access to relevant and entertaining books! By donating to this Donors Choose project, you will be helping a child grow a love for reading. The books and supplies will assist students in completing book club requirements for the 2018-2019 school year; moreover, the selected books are engaging for high school teenagers. The books will transform the way my students navigate their lives since literature teaches students what it means to be human and what it means to be broken or alive in today's world!
