This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are kindergarten through fifth graders who are full of energy. They visit the library once per week for a scheduled special. In addition, teachers send students to the library to complete a task or come for a full class activity. Some also come during recess for fun or to mentor younger students.
The students have adapted to the challenges thrown at them this past year and are not only surviving but thriving in this very different environment.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love reading diverse books, participating in maker space activities and STEM challenges, and are very curious. There are over 1,400 students in our school!
I have a large population of English language learners. They are eager to learn and enjoy every minute of it. My students are both general and special education students. They are all amazing kids!
My Project
The look on my students faces when they come to the library each week and see different books, genres and authors featured with each new display is priceless. This project will help me to make it even more amazing!
With new display frames, students have beautiful displays to help them take a new interest in topics, genres, authors, or holidays!
The mounting tape will be used as we display our amazing work and signage to help us find books and the wire book racks will be used to display even more books. In addition, we can use the clear frames for STEM Challenge centers so that the directions are easily accessible and durable.
