This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school does not have the money to spend on extra supplies for the classroom. I usually end up paying for most of the extra supplies in my classroom. I cannot afford this item and all the other supplies, so I am asking for your kind help. We are a fabulous little school in a LARGE, LARGE urban city in northern California. We are a kindergarten class that has gone through many obstacles in life, but we are strong and smart! Our teacher does all she can to help find us resources.
We do not have a PTA fund with extra money and in California there is a severe budget cut to our schools. We need supplies desperately for this year and the next. This bookcase will enable us to actually put our books on shelves not into plastic crates or an old shelf my teacher found years ago that is falling apart. We will be able to come put our books away and other supplies with this fabulous new bookcase! For years to come this sturdy LARGE bookcase will serve many students to come.
I cannot afford to buy such a learning for my room, nor can my school.
With outdated classrooms and with limited supplies this bookcase will be a welcome to my room and the kindergarten students that will use it everyday. They have been through so much in their young lives, but they always put this smile on their faces and are ready for the bright new day.
My Project
I know this is a very large expensive purchase, so I am hoping to get little by little donations as possible. It will go a long way and help out in a very big, big way. My classroom is outdated - my desks are almost 50 years old and currently there is not a single bookcase. We use plastic milk crates and an old shelf I found and tried to hammer back together (to no avail). Please donate what you can and help us place our books and other supplies out of the milk crates and the floor! Your help means so much!!
This is a large request, I know, but believe me whatever you can give to my sweet little class, please do and help us with our classroom.
