Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a classroom teacher it is really important for my students and me to begin our day in community. One of the ways we do this is starting our day with community circle which takes place on our classroom rug. Every morning we sit in a circle on our carpet and go around sharing a response to different questions that helps us learn about each other.
Throughout the day our classroom rug is not only used as the main area where we build community, but also as the area where most of our learning happens.
This year my goal is to replace the old, small rug I have in my classroom with a new one that is big enough to fit all of my students.
