My Students

After 8 years of teaching first graders my principal has assigned me to another challenge...Kindergarten!

I am a veteran teacher working in one of the largest urban school districts in Texas.

Although our needs are great, it does not keep my students from learning. Many of my students live in a low economic area and receive free lunch. This year I am a first grade teacher. However next school year I will begin another chapter in my teacher career..kindergarten. I'm excited to try something different. However I have invested a lot of time and money in first grade that I must have additional materials for my kindergartens.

My Project

Many of the kindergarten teachers I know have blocks and lacing materials. The blocks are used during center time and for other activities such as math. It also gives the students an opportunity to socialize and work with their peers. The lacing sets are good for gross motor skills as well.

I know that when the students come to my classroom and see all the fun activities that I have to share with them that they enjoy the time they spend in my classroom.

Please help me give my new students something that they will enjoy all year long.
