Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school is an inner-city school with minimal access to nature. The playground area doesn't have access to grass a playground, or trees nearby. I have seen how the lack of nature, affects my student's ability to self-regulate, explore, and engage with the natural world.

I hope to give this to my students through classroom decor, a calming environment, sensory experiences, and plants!

This nature-infused environment will help to welcome my students and regulate their emotions. Many of my students are new to the country and have limited conversational skills. A calming environment would help them to connect to the teacher(s) and their peers.
