This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A little bit goes a long way, especially for those of us in a financially unstable, Title 1 school district.

I am always willing to put my hand in my own pocket if it means that I can support the different learning needs of my students, but at one point or another, what I can provide them with by myself will no longer be enough.

I am looking for hands-on learning manipulatives that will support the various learning profiles of my speech and language students.

My Project

In a title 1 school, we don't have access to hands-on materials to teach our students who require a multi-modality approach to learning.

My speech students have various learning profiles and they learn through tactile, visual and auditory approaches.

With a Chromebook, I will be able to show videos, conduct read-alouds and have my students listen to information presented auditorally. With a dry-erase table, they will be able to draw pictures to answer math word problems, take notes with questions while listening to stories and make quick graphic organizers for a reference to use when composing written work.

A little bit really does go a long way in our speech room, and we are always grateful for the amazing donors who help us fulfill our learning and teaching needs.
