Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title 1 public school where all of the students at my school are immigrants to New York City. In my class alone, I have over 15 countries and 9 languages represented. What makes my students special is the community and bonds they form in this diverse environment. In my class, I design and facilitate Project Based Learning curriculum that embraces their cultural identities and empowers my students to create change in their community.
My Project
The monitor will help me be a better teacher to my students for two reasons.
Currently, on my small laptop screen, I cannot see all the students at once while still managing the slides and activities connected to the lessons.
I will be able to better manage my large online Zoom classes by utilizing the larger screen size.
The second reason the monitor will benefit my students is it will allow me to create better content for my class. I create a lot of videos, audio recordings, and other media content for my English Language Learning students to be able to more easily access my science class content and materials. The monitor's screen and hardware will allow me to strengthen the material I create for my students.
