it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials and supplies I am requesting are for my students to have the basics to succeed in school and create their science interactive notebooks.
This is the first year my students with moderate to severe disabilities are finally eligible to receive a diploma.
Therefore, the curriculum has changed, and so has the size of my program, which will now serve 60 students. This project has been created with the intent of having all the supplies provided for students, as 90% of my students come from low-income households.
The pencils, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, and highlighters will be used for students' everyday activities. In addition, these basic supplies will also be used to create their science interactive notebooks. The composition notebooks will become our interactive notebooks that will be used to take notes, finish classwork, and complete labs. We will use half for the first semester and the other half for the second. The storage containers will help my students learn to care for and be responsible for their supplies. A pencil sharper is needed as last year ours broke. The Ziploc bags will be used for lab kits. The visual timer will help students transition from one activity to the next. Finally, the Clorox wipes and Kleenex tissues ensure we keep our classroom and lab area clean.
My goal is to make science fun for my students while teaching them different life skills they can use beyond their high school years, such as being organized, being responsible, and the importance of keeping a clean space.
