My Students

I am the teacher of 30 energetic and remarkable 4th and 5th-grade students in a city with the most ethnically diverse neighborhood in our country! Each morning my students walk through the door and are greeted with new opportunities to learn and be successful. My students are very creative and, as their teacher, I do my best to foster their learning and provide opportunities to grow as individuals.

Everyone has a story.

Each of my students comes from his or her own unique situation and home life. We have an ethnically and economically diverse classroom full of eager learners and very hard workers. All of my students have strengths to share, as well as room to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

My Project

The classroom materials that I am requesting will provide students with supplies, which will help them focus on learning and working. The variety materials I am requesting will help to have a positive impact on the students and their learning environment.

When students have the supplies they need, they are able to focus more on learning.

My students use Chromebooks for individualized instruction, small group, and whole group instruction. Providing students earbuds to use with the Chromebooks will help my students to be less distracted by the noises coming from their neighbor's Chromebook. Using earbuds will allow my students to focus on their own tasks.

My students also need pencils, erasers, and pencil sharpeners. Many of my students do not come to school with these basic supplies. It is important that students can focus on their learning and their work instead of worrying about not having adequate supplies.

Currently, my students either fold the pages of a book or use a sticky note to save their place. Pages get crumples and sometimes torn when sticky notes are removed. I would like to provide students with bookmarks in order to help preserve our classroom library books.

Our class also needs a set of strong magnets. This will allow students to place presentation posters on the whiteboard. In turn, this will allow students to focus on their presentation instead of focusing on holding their posters up for the class to be able to see.

I want my students to have the supplies needed so they can focus and work to the best of their ability in order to achieve academic success.
