This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will provide a much-needed calm-down space for my kindergarten friends to practice their mindfulness exercises as they regain a sense of self in the midst of a very busy and often emotion-packed days.

All humans encounter BIG feelings and emotions at times.

Early learners blossom and develop when they feel EQUIPPED and SUPPORTED to maneuver those daily waves of emotions in a positive and safe space.

My classroom of high-poverty, urban students represents a global community of cultures and experiences. By providing soft, culturally responsive dolls in the calming space the children receive soft sensory input while focusing on a plush doll face in which they can connect with.
