it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to purchase 35 books of Art Spiegelman’s Maus for my students. As an educator, I've seen how important it is to teach young people about events like the Holocaust. I intend to use this book to illuminate the plight of survivors while showing the generational effects it still has on society today. The Maus graphic novel is a compelling way for young minds to interact with the concept of genocide.
The goal of this project is to raise awareness of the Holocaust and empower students to unite around a collective memory.
Furthermore, students will learn how to recognize injustice and discuss how it impacts their daily lives.
This experience will allow my students to grow their understanding of the world around them and to help them see the power behind unity and working together.
