Help me give my students a magical classroom where they can learn about writing on a giant paper-like magnet and play educational games through word building and alphabet Bingo.
As a teacher at a diverse school where classrooms are full of students varying in language and academic backgrounds, I try to really get to know and connect with each student even if it means researching their native language or meeting their academic needs based on their intelligences and life successes.
My students are eager learners with lots of questions.
I listen with an open mind, ready to create activities that allow them to explore their curiosities! Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. As soon as they enter the classroom I focus on their ability to learn and grow. Many of them have little to no academic support at home due to work conflicts, language and other barriers. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can control their experience during the school day, and I always make sure it is packed full of fun, interactive and extendable learning.
My Project
The use of the magnetic writing paper will be very helpful when teaching how to transfer writing. With lines provided, my students will be able to see how the letters should look on their paper too. Name tags do more than help my students learn how to write their name and where their seat is. In my class, name tags are a resource. They have numbers, letters with pictures, shapes and colors.
I want my classroom to not only be welcoming, but a place where my students are eager to learn.
I want my students to hurry to school everyday to do word building activities and play letter or number Bingo.
With special touches like eye catching boarders to create a magical learning space, my students will want to come to school early and stay late.
