I teach third grade, gifted and talented and I have twenty-nine students. My classroom is filled with a diverse group of students from all backgrounds, academic levels, etc. They are the coolest, most intelligent bunch of students I have ever met! They are hard working, entertaining, and motivated.
My students have a variety of strengths as well as a variety of needs, both academic and social.
I work hard to educate all learners in my room, and we have fun doing so each and every day.
My Project
COVID-19 turned our world upside down. Schools are closed. My students are safe at home, but miles away from me. I am remotely teaching intelligent young minds from home. I want to be able to give them an education from my house to theirs; I want to try to replicate the school day.
As the world changes, we must adapt.
Please help me to provide my students with authentic learning. It would be nice to connect in a virtual classroom without worrying that my students can't see me well enough or aren't close enough to the white board to see math problems. I want to be be able to plan and prepare lessons that will be so interesting that they want to connect to my classroom. A MacBook Air laptop would help me to provide this authentic learning in a virtual world.
The best part about this new world, is that I can use the MacBook Air and my knowledge of remote learning to foster new ideas in my physical classroom, when I return to the school building. This project will continue to nourish authentic learning.
