My Project
A colleague of mine recently used her meager teachers' choice money to purchase a clip-on net (set up on a conference room table) and ping pong paddles to use on our suite of offices in our small school. Students who have never played ping pong are suddenly very interested in the game, and we have a significant number of visitors to play. This lunchtime choice of activity has exercised a noticeably positive effect on our school culture: students across grade levels and from different social cohorts are suddenly coming together for spirited, good-natured games of ping pong.
So, I decided to try to secure a real ping pong table for our school.
I believe this will continue to improve school culture and social cohesion for years to come. If I didn't spend so much of my own money on classroom supplies and other things for my students, I would probably just purchase this table myself.
