This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class has a wide range of abilities and each student has different needs to be addressed. I want to be able to provide more interactions during storytime for my non-verbal students and those needing a challenge. I also would like to provide my students with more sensory items.

They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even though they don't know it yet.

They are the future, and I want to give them the best start I can in school.

My Project

I love to read to my students throughout the day, but since they are mostly non-verbal, I am always looking for ways to adapt their favorite books so that they may participate in our circle time. By adapting their books, they are able to participate by attaching matching photos to the pages. This gives my students a chance to work on matching colors and pictures.

The majority of my students struggle with sensory needs.

Water beads will give them a fun and engaging activity while exposing them to different textures. I chose dinosaur shapes to go in the water beads for them to hunt for since our theme this year is dinosaurs.
