This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a proud sixth-grade teacher with an absolutely amazing class! I currently work in my hometown and I love it. However, the school I work for is a Title I school. It is located in an inner-city where poverty and crime are high and resources are incredibly low. The majority of the items in my class, (from pencils to a whiteboard, to my entire classroom library), were purchased by me at some point throughout the past six years.

My happy classroom provides a safe haven for my unique, diverse and inquisitive class.

My students have a natural love and curiosity for learning. I want to continue to encourage them and find ways to promote a positive, collaborative environment which fosters their love for learning.

Please help provide my students with the opportunity to access the tools they need to be successful!

My Project

Recently, I purchased a few Goosebumps books and they didn't stay on my bookshelves long enough. I remember the suspense of R.L. Stine's books when I was a student myself. I'd like to add some new Goosebumps books to my library so students have the opportunity to enjoyment in a series.

I also need high interest books to will help me with small groups as I teach important critical thinking, comprehension and fluency skills.

It'd like to add new books for guided reading time so that I can change it up each year. The books will also be used to help guide important discussions and conversations in the small group setting.
