My Project

As a special education teacher, I would love to give my students the opportunity to learn how to grow and take care of plants. This would improve their daily living and community skills as well as add color to the front of our building. The students will learn about the life cycle of plants with the garden beds, potting soil and other tools. They will also work on being responsible for a living thing and see the outcome of their hard work when the flowers bloom.

My students face many challenges in and out of the classroom.

Not only do they have a disability, but most come from low-income, single family homes and do not have many opportunities. My job as their teacher is to create an engaging classroom and teach skills they will use later in life.
