My Students
My kids, who are already facing challenges as being deaf and hard-of-hearing, are now struggling with this huge change of learning at home. Most of my students come from low-income homes, most of whom don't even have access to internet. They are currently using tablets that are being loaned out by the school.
My students are eager learners who just need the right tools in order to be successful at home!
Many of my kids depended on being in school to receive meals and just the basics needed to learn. I want to make this transition into distance learning as easy as I possibly could.
My Project
In this project, I want to send home to my students the basic materials that they can use the entire time they're doing distance learning. Now that the schools are not open to provide, let's bring school to them! my students would use the notebooks and dry erase boards to be able to participate in our video call lessons. I want their learning to be as interactive as possible so they don't lose their love of learning!
Giving these kids their own packs of books is going to make things so much easier for them!
Many of them don't have access to actual books at home. They would be so excited to have books that they can call their own! I have also included packages of goldfish snacks for each child. Many of them relied on my snack cabinet each day for food so I want to bring a little bit of that support into their homes.
