My students need the Kindle Fires so that they can Read to Self and take an online assessment on the app RAZ Kids to show how well they are comprehending what they read.

My Students
My students are happy, energetic, BRIGHT and eager to learn. They come from a variety of backgrounds. My class is a very diverse group and one thing they all have in common is they want to learn. They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. I want my students to enjoy the technology component of learning. With all the challenges children face today, I want my classroom to be FUN! Technology can provide that for my students.
My Project
The Kindle Fire will allow almost every child to Read to Self Weekly and take online assessments. These assessments hold students accountable for what they are reading. There are also apps I will put on there to help with math and grammar.
Technology is much more interesting than pencil and paper!
Students thrive when we meet them where they are. Technology is that place.
When students have technology in their hands they become like sponges. These tables will add to the computers that I already have in the classroom and will allow more students at a time to utilize technology.
