My students need 6 Chromebooks to support them in becoming active participants in the learning process.

Our young students at our elementary school are naturally curious about many things. They love to learn new things and demonstrate their learning in many different ways. Our school is made up of culturally and linguistically diverse students. In order to meet the diverse needs of our students, we are dedicated to offering them various ways to demonstrate mastery of a skill. Some students may opt to write while others prefer to make videos, infographics, posters, etc.
Technology is such a flexible classroom resource.
There are countless ways to use technology to engage students and empower them to take ownership of their learning.
We are a high hope school and we are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. Though we are a small school, we serve students from Kindergarten through fifth grade plus our Pre-K Language class and students with autism.
By the time children enter the classroom, many of them are already familiar with some type of technology. Many kids are comfortable using iPads, tablets, phones or computers to play games however, they have not had the opportunity to use technology tools to create something or complete a project. In order to keep up with our fast paced world, it is imperative that teachers support technology integration. By the time students enter 3rd grade, they are expected to use a Chromebook to complete assignments, collaborate with their peers, and share experiences.
Many times, early childhood classrooms are not given technology tools.
It is up to the teachers to advocate for their students to find ways to integrate developmentally appreciate technology. Having these 6 Chromebooks in the classroom will enable us to introduce students to technology as an academic tool. Your generous donations to our project will help our young students build their technology skills and ultimately help them build a foundation in using educational technology tools.
