Help me give my students The Little Spot Book Bundles and activity sets, which are incredibly engaging for their age and will help foster social emotional understanding, growth and regulation in and out of school!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In a world where now students (and adults) are staring at screens all day, nothing feels better than flipping through the pages of a book! My students come from many different walks of life; some with learning disabilities, health impairments, some have newly immigrated to NYC or the US itself, for some it is their very first time in a structured school setting. You can imagine emotions are often running high and at times my little ones have not yet learned the how to verbalize and regulate their feelings.
By donating to our project, you are helping to build a library of social emotional learning books and fostering the development of self-regulation skills in our students.
The Little Spot book sets are extremely engaging and address the competencies of Social Emotional Learning: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and making responsible decision making.
By using The Little Spot book sets, students will not only be engaged in Social Emotional Learning but will be able to reinforce their reading skills, which isn't something that can be done with read aloud videos online.
