My Project
Each year I get to meet a brand new bunch of Kindergarten students, and I am honored to be the first exposure to structured education for many of them! Along with academics, I teach students how to be part of our classroom family and community. Part of that is understanding, labeling, and working through their feelings. For many of my students, this is the first time they've had to interact with so many peers in a classroom setting, which can bring out a lot of new emotions!
The social-emotional kit will introduce students to emotions they'll experience and is a toolkit I can use to teach students that ALL of their feelings are valid and what we can do when we are having those BIG emotions!
I take great pride in not only preparing my students to be readers, writers, and mathematicians but also to be kind, functioning members of a community!
