This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher of bright, creative, and resilient individuals. My students have a great love for learning, which makes teaching so enjoyable. Besides having academic disadvantages, they also come from families that are not always able to provide supplies or financial assistance.

As Albert Einstein said, "Creativity is Intelligence having FUN!"

Having books that highlight a range of emotions, teach about strategies for self-control, and encourage positive responsible decision-making will empower my students to learn how to navigate through the many situations they may encounter in their lives.

These incredible books will help me teach and model relatable stories, skills, and strategies for students as we practice developing their emotions and making appropriate choices that will contribute to our classroom, school, and home lives.

The "A Little Spot" book series by Diane Alber has colorful, engaging ways to inspire, discuss, and teach students about how to appropriately live in the world around them while being able to experience different ranges of emotions and situations that are age-appropriate for elementary students.

With these materials, we will be able to talk about and walk each other through events and/or feelings people experience daily in a fun and appropriate ways.
