Social emotional learning is an essential part of kindergarten, and it's my favorite part of the school day! I recently started using some of the I'm a Spot books and songs during SEL time. My students cannot get enough of it, they especially love the I'm A Scribble Spot song. They reference the song several times a day when talking about their feelings and emotions. It's amazing to watch them start to use words like frustrated, worried, anxious, and confidence when describing their feelings.
The books and songs have really helped my students to navigate and identify their emotions.
I would love to have the curriculum materials so that we can use the spots to learn about our feelings more in depth. I truly believe this curriculum will help my students become social emotional experts as they advance to upper grades and even as adults!
