My Students
Our classroom is in need of a little glam with a lot of sparkle. That can transform our classroom into an entertaining experience.
I teach a wonderful group of 4th graders at a Title I school which has a large number of students who receive free or reduced lunch.
Although my students are young in age, they are wise in knowledge. My students care about one another and are always looking for ways that they can support those in the classroom as well as the community. Each student is unique and fun to be around. My students especially love to know that others care about them and want them to succeed, which is why they constantly support their classmates as they are working towards their academic goals. My classroom is definitely one that values community learning and my students display that each day with the respect they show toward one another.
My Project
The portable soundDock music system will be used to expose my students to a variety of music to make our reading and writing workshops soothing and jazzy. Research has shown that music plays a fascinating role in brain development, often referred to as the "Mozart Effect" when listening to Classical music. I plan on playing Baroque music while students are working in groups to create a cafe like environment to add a little sparkle to our room that my students truly deserve.
