My Students

Walk into my classroom and you will see 25 students noisily engaged in learning. Some students may be working together on a puzzle, building an obstacle course for robots, counting with math manipulatives, curled up with a book or working with me in a small group. When a visitor enters our room, these students look very similar, but as their teacher, I know which student may not have had supper last night, who stayed with older siblings while Mom worked a second job, whose parents are getting a divorce and which one is homeless and living in a shelter.

Our classroom is a family.

We may not begin the year that way but it is definitely how we end the year. We laugh, cry and celebrate with each other. We care. We love.

My Project

Many materials are needed to help make each day successful in kindergarten. We are requesting ink, card stock, tempera sticks, tape and other classroom supplies. These materials will contribute to ensuring our classroom runs smoothly and effectively. Want to know how?

Kindergarten students love to paint but paint cups can be messy!

There is also the issue of hanging the papers while they dry. These awesome tempera sticks dry almost instantly. We also need printer ink and card stock to print the stories we are beginning to write. Seeing our stories on colored card stock makes us feel like published authors! We never have enough Command hooks or tape.
