My Students

We are a group of diverse, energetic, and excited learners. We learn in one of the most diverse district in the country. Within our four walls, I have students who speak Burmese, Somali, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Cambodian, Turkish, Russian, and English. Even with all of these different languages, students always find a way to communicate and learn together.

Kindness, empathy, compassion, joy, and excitement are demonstrated every day with our students.

These Kindergarteners will always amazing me with how well they treat each other and how supportive they are of one another.

My Project

My kindergarteners need whiteboards, dry erase markers, and erasers to use for daily math and writing practice. Using a different medium to practice math and writing skills is engaging and fun for our students. We're also asking for more crayons and markers to practice colors, create projects, and to give students more choice of different materials to use.

Kindergarteners love to experiment with newly developed skills using markers, crayons, whiteboards, and other hands-on materials.

It is a fun way to transfer what they learned into their own creations. Students enjoy coming to school because they have access to different materials that they don't have at home. Something as simple as markers, crayons, and paper is a resource that many of our students do not have at home.
