This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students face many challenges and obstacles in their home and school life. As a teacher, it is a difficult task to give them an equal amount of opportunities that other students in other areas may have. In spite of the fact, my students show up every day eager and excited to learn, they strive for success and do not give up.
Our school is in the heart of Los Angeles and serves a community that has a high poverty rate and diverse backgrounds.
As a product of the same circumstances, I believe that my students will achieve prosperity with the help of big-hearted people.
My Project
My students need various opportunities to engage in learning and exploration. Having a variety of tools for alphabetic principle and math encourages a range of skills and development such as fine motor, pre-writing skills, hand, and eye coordination, color recognition, and many more!
At the moment, they must use the limited resources available to them.
Thanks to many donors we were able to get a light table this year. The additional items requested will help add to their learning when using the light table. The items requested will be a great addition to our classroom and will support my students overall well-being.
