My Project
Sometimes in a Special Education classroom, it takes a little bit of creativity, providing good choices and being given some comforts to engage the students to want to learn. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math and 7th and 8th grade Language Arts to my special education resource students.
Do you know the saying, "Sometimes the best thing about my job is that my chair spins!" Well, sometimes the best thing I found to get my students going is to go for a spin on my chair.
With their own comfy, spinning chairs, they can do a spin in their own chair to reset and refocus on their work.
The standing desks will help when my students get the wiggles in their seats or feel that they could do their best work if they are standing.
The wire racks will let my students have their own special place to put their binders and materials in the classroom, instead of just stacked on the counter. My students have their own challenges to overcome and I'd love to be able to give them a "special spot" of their own.
