Help me give my students literature circle books to help take them beyond the walls of our classroom as we study and read about different countries, communities, and cultures.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I love my students so much. My sweet, adorable third scholars are so eager to learn everyday. My students are book-loving, improving-readers, and enthusiastic learners. Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
Truly, they are my inspiration!
As English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued. I am a 3rd grade teacher at a K-12 public charter school in an impoverished, under served urban area. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are an amazing group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn!
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. We will also be using these books in our Literature Circles to promote an interest in reading, in addition to critical thinking, comprehension and fluency skills.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
