This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Creating a community of readers is a work of heart. In our classroom, our students all come from different backgrounds and have a variety of interests. Our 7th graders are creative, helpful and hard working! In order to motivate our students to read we must create a classroom environment that gets our students excited about reading. With these books it will bring our classroom library alive and will add to a "Reading is Lit" vibe! In order to get excited about reading, our students must see themselves represented in these characters.
With these diverse reading materials our stupendous seventh-graders will be motivated to read more!
Our students will benefit from these diverse books on our wish list through independent reading, book discussions, and book chats. We also plan on using these books to create displays in the classroom that celebrate reading such as a reading quote bulletin board and an "I Recommend" bulletin board created by our students. With your help our students will channel their helpful, creative energy to help set up our classroom library and contribute to this "Reading is Lit" vibe!
