I teach a 3rd grade classroom in a low socio-economic demographics with limited resources that effects their academic successes.
It has been proven that students who not only read the story out loud in a whole group setting also need to hear it on tape as well. This will give the students more opportunities to comprehend the story by hearing it more than one time. This also helps our struggling readers comprehend the story.
A listening center will provide the students who struggle with reading a better way of comprehending the story. The listening center is used at least 2 times a week and will help the students feel comfortable when they read in a whole group setting.
Your help will ensure that my students will have the best materials to help them become successful in there everyday learning. You would be making a tremendous difference in my students' academics.
