This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students consist of three and four year olds who love to learn. They are eager to explore through hands on activities and I'm eager to engage them in meaningful play experiences to foster life long learning experiences. They range in different levels of academic achievement including language development and about 50% are English Language Learners.

Our school is an early childhood center whose motto is to spread a love of learning and respect for one another.

Learning can only take place when our students care about their school and friends. Caring for your friends and teachers starts with role models so that students take pride in their school and learning will naturally occur.

My Project

A listening center will foster a love of reading books independently. My English Language Learners will be able to revisit stories for story comprehension as well as acquiring the English language. The storage center provides an easy and organized area that can be easily transported to different areas of the classroom for easy access. It provides a great opportunity for students to listen to their favorite stories throughout the school day. It will provide my students with special needs an alternative to story telling. A listening center enhances reading skills. It conveys the words in the story in such a way that it embellishes and dramatizes the stories making children more eager to learn how to read.
