Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach kindergarten and have students from different backgrounds. I love learning about their cultures and backgrounds. Being a kindergarten teacher is very rewarding and I love being a part of my kiddos' day. Each of my students learns differently and they need to be very hands-on in their learning. I like to create a safe environment where my students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and opinions.

I work in a Title I-funded school so my students come from low-income families and they don't have a lot at home.

I like to make my students feel like our classroom is their second home and I like them to be able to learn and enjoy themselves while in school.

By cultivating a caring and safe environment, my students feel comfortable and become more engaged. I love seeing the look on their faces when they learn new things.

My Project

The light table will magnify my student’s exploration by keeping them engaged while exploring reading, writing, and math. The students will use the table to explore letters, numbers, categorizing, and shapes.

The light table will give my students the opportunity to use their senses while exploring math and learning to read and write.

This will be a great opportunity for my students to be exposed to hands on activities that can be used on the light table. I believe the light table will help with our classroom environment by encouraging the students to explore and use their senses.
