My Project
My classroom is full of tiny diverse learners and I need a classroom library that reflects just that! When students can see themselves in literature, they feel a sense of belonging. Liz Fosslien said, "Diversity is having a seat at the table. Inclusion is having a voice, and belonging is having that voice be heard." I want my classroom to be a place where my students truly belong. The books I have selected highlight people of color and this is a rare gift in the world of literacy. In addition to the books, I have also chosen a few art supplies that will allow students to have opportunities to draw self portraits and even some of the characters in our new books!
