My Students
Our students are a wonderful group each year. The classroom these books will help support is an inclusion classroom. That means the students within the classroom range from students that need a little extra support to students that are gifted.
As each new year begins the students are full of energy and are ready to learn.
This group will be no different. With students coming from many different ethic and social backgrounds it makes for a wonderful group of kids.
My Project
Having a full classroom library allows the students an assortment of options when trying to find what they like to read. Having a variety of different sets also allows the students to continue reading a series that they find appealing.
Reading is an excellent way for a student to not only learn but to enjoy other worlds.
With the series I have chosen the students will be able to enjoy literary classics, biographies, thrillers, and contemporary novels. These series include the Who Is (Was) book series, classic literature (such as Dracula, Little Women, etc.), All the Wrong Questions series, and other high interest books. These books range from low to high reading abilities so finding a book for struggling readers and finding a book that challenges my higher ability levels becomes easier.
I have always valued having a library in my classroom that meets the needs of my students. I also put a great deal of emphasis on encouraging and helping students find a love of reading. Having a wide variety of books allows me to help students find the book that could potentially lead them down a path to a joy for reading.
