My Project

Help me give my third grade students books that help foster a love of reading, create a sense of community amongst peers, and strengthen social emotional development.

My goals for my third graders this year are to be kind, have compassion, and learn how to be a great friend and learn what it is like to contribute to the community.

I plan to use the chapter book series to engage students and get them excited about reading, not only when they HAVE to read, but also for fun and enjoyment. I plan to use picture books for my lower level readers and to read aloud to the class as a way to introduce social emotional discussions. I carefully chose books that I have researched and will help make meeting these goals possible. I have also included items to make our classroom library feel comfy and cozy so students will want to spend time here.
