My students need books at their reading levels to inspire them to love literature! They have devoured the books in our library and need more books that will continue to challenge them.

My Students
My first grade students come from a tight-knit, low-income community in the city of Chicago. They are excited to be starting first grade and to receive letter grades for the first time this year.
Each of my students is uniquely talented, counting on school to provide a place to let those talents shine.
First grade establishes a strong foundation for students in school, both academically and socially. This group is focused on building a supportive classroom community and working together to help one another succeed.
My Project
So far this year, my students have already made great progress towards becoming stronger readers. Now we need books at higher reading levels to match their developing skill!
Our strongest first-grade readers have exhausted our little library, and new books will motivate them to keep up their momentum!
First grade sees the most reading growth of any school year, and I hope to maintain student engagement in reading with more titles at progressively higher reading levels.
Our library contains levels A-E and these F and G level books will quickly become new favorites during our daily library rotations. Help us continue to continue to great work these students have begun in reading and loving literature!
