Help me give my students a reading library with leveled books!
The students in my class are emergent readers and love to spend time in our library corner, however, our library is small with books too advanced.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 3rd and 4th graders with great potential and an interest in learning through technology. All of my students have ASD otherwise known as Autism Spectrum Disorder. They attend a specialized school to meet their diverse needs and are in a classroom with a small adult: student ratio. As students with more significant needs, they often struggle with expressing their needs and wants, using appropriate social behaviors and engaging in activities that are not of their preference. Despite the challenges, my students face they are learners just like the rest of us! My students make their interests known and are always up showing the world who they are.
I thank the teachers who took the time to believe in me and just as they did, I believe in my own students, in their potential, and most certainly in their capacity to learn through choice.
This year and all those that follow I hope to meet my students where they are and the power of choice to promote both their learning in the classroom and their overall independence in the world.
My Project
A leveled library will help my students with their emerging reading skills. Many students in the class love books and look forward to spending time in our library nook. They explore there, they complete work there, and they read independently! Each and every book in or class library is treated with love and care, and students are excited by new and fun opportunities to read. All of the leveled books in this project have been chosen with my students in mind. I have taken their independent levels into consideration and know that with greater choice students will continue to grow in their reading skills.
