Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Picture a classroom with limited materials and technology. That's my class! How can a science and math teacher get their students to master the skills necessary with out the proper resources. How can I help my students be independent learners?
Our school is in a high poverty community.
Most of my students are new comers to this country and their parents are struggling to make ends meet. Their parents can hardly afford food and clothes let alone school materials. They are eager learners and have a bright future ahead of them.
My Project
This a new generation where a technology rich classroom is essential. My students will love using a tablet. They will be able to download apps such as BrainPop, National Geographic, Marble Math, and even a Bill Nye the Science Guy app. They are always coloring, cutting, and gluing different things in their Math and Science interactive journals. I know they will benefit from the donated materials because they will be having hands on experiences when practicing their skills.
My project will make a difference because it will guarantee them a bright future.
By getting these materials it will make their learning enjoyable and productive. I may have future engineers and artists in my classroom that will look back one day and realize how important it is to help others. I believe your kind and very appreciated donation will provide my students with materials that, without your help,they could not afford.
