My Students
I teach in a preschool room in a low-income school district. My students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that my students are facing, I strive to provide them with a fun, interactive, safe, and meaningful learning environment. As their teacher, I try to instill the importance of communicating/listening to one another, being a good citizen and leader, and using trauma-informed techniques to aid them in their social-emotional development.
My students have various learning styles' backgrounds and needs.
Due to being located in an inner-city, funding is extremely hard to come by, and in order to provide my students with the best learning experiences I can give them, I typically find ways to procure these items and experiences out of pocket or by any means I can, which is where DonorsChoose comes in.
My Project
During whole group learning, we use our classroom TV screen and touchscreen. Typically, during these lessons, my district-issued teacher laptop is used. If I'd like to continue to use our screen throughout the day, it limits the ability of work I am able to do since my laptop must be used with the screen.
By having a second laptop in the classroom, we will be able to use the whole-group learning screen throughout the day for more than just lessons.
We will be able to use the screen for gross motor activities like GoNoodle and putting on music/calming videos during naptime.
