it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In today's world, everything in online. Student's use the Internet to interactively learn, do research, and check their grades. If I even had just one computer for this purpose, my students would be much more informed and my class would run more efficiently.
My classes are wonderful.
They are full of students who have boundless energy and a great desire to learn. They are so curious about everything we discuss and I would love to be able to answer all of their questions to the fullest extent. I catch myself saying, "Let's look that up!" all the time. My students are sweet Bronx residents who attend an over-crowded K-8 school.
My Project
Even one laptop could make a huge difference to my students. We use a SMARTboard in our class and the only computer we have in the room is connected to it (and it has such a big monitor, it can't be moved around). With a laptop, students can satisfy their curiosity when they want to learn more about a particular topic, they can see how the things we discuss actually work and I can have personal conferences with students while analyzing their grades online.
Computers are expensive.
The school can't afford to purchase them for each classroom because they have already spent so much on technology. In order to give our kids the best education possible, computers are vital.
