This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Do you remember what supplies you were required to have in class? The families in my classroom struggle to purchase most of the required materials needed for success in the classroom. All of the extra special supplies get purchased by me.
I am about to start my 7th year as a kindergarten teacher at my school in a general education classroom at a low-income school in New York City.
They are a great group of kids who are extremely inquisitive and want to learn more. We spend most of our day on our rug either playing games, reading, or learning
My Project
We are label obsessed in my classroom. I feel that having a room that is labeled fosters independence. I want my students to be able to find the things they need and be able to accomplish tasks without asking me. Having everything properly labeled accomplishes this task. We go through labels very quickly and having a stockpile will help my students stay organized and become more independent.
It is essential that students have access to a variety of learning materials.
By supporting this project, you are helping to make sure that we stay organized and everything will be clearly labeled for little hands.
