FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Zara's classroom raised $117
This project is fully funded
Kindergartners need many hands-on experiences to help them through the stages of early literacy. One way children improve their understanding of stories is to act them out. I am asking for a donation of a puppet theater so that my kindergartners can act out stories we read in class. At this time I have puppets that were kindly donated to my class last year through this website, but no theater.
Acting out stories not only builds comprehension skills but also fosters community-building and social skills, since the children work together to act out the stories. Acting out stories also builds language skills. It is important that early-childhood students have as much experience using language as possible. When they act out stories, they will acquire this experience and learn from each other. The children in my class last year were always excited to use the puppets and had fun while learning. I want to give my students the same experience this year. A theater would give the students a place where they can act out the stories in small groups and perform for the rest of the class.
So I am kindly asking for a donation of a puppet theater for my class of about twenty kindergartners. This theater will help enhance the early-literacy experience of my students and build social skills.
