My Project

There are many topics that are tough for adults to comprehend, let alone kids. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't teach about them!

Kids need appropriate texts to help them understand things like empathy, racism, and inclusion that are at their reading level and explained in a way students can relate to.

The series "A Kids Book About..." is a great way to tackle these ideas.

In our classroom, we already have A Kids Book About the Nervous System Regulation, A Kids Book About Racism, A Kids Book About Failure, and A Kids Book About Belonging. The students and I love doing these books as a read-aloud and then having them available in the classroom.
