This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students that I teach come from very low economic homes, however, that does not define these kids. The students that walk into my classroom have the most caring and determined hearts of any students I have ever taught. These students are the reason why I am in the profession.
My teaching philosophy is centered around making sure my students feel loved and safe.
It is vital that these students feel that every time they come into my classroom because this opportunity is often missed at home. My students have the drive to be successful and I want to give them the tools are resources so they can graduate and know that they are a positive contribution to society.
My Project
The skill of organization goes hand-in-hand with a successful learning experience. This global pandemic has taught me, to be flexible in the art of teaching. When you have a space that is clean, and organized, being flexible comes second nature. The materials that I have explicitly selected will not only help me as an educator, but help me model to my students that being organized is a life long skill that aides in success.
When a student feels safe and loved in a classroom, then and only then can successful learning occur.
The materials that I have selected all aide in the learning process. I have selected a desk to help give an extra work space to my students who also enjoy flexible seating. Different storage organizers to help provide my classroom as well as my school athletic program with spaces for athletic gear. A Cricut machine to provide additional signage and activities for my department. As well as, technology aids so that both my students and myself can navigate remote learning throughout the rest of the year.
I am proud of the materials that I have selected and can't wait to but them into use.
More than half of students from low‑income households
