This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn about anatomy. As you may know, students learn better by doing and manipulating. These models will also make learning more fun and meaningful.
My student come from different backgrounds and most are learning English as a second language.
They are very eager learners and hard working. They enjoy learning and exploring with the enthusiasm that only kids in kindergarten bring into the classroom.
My Project
Having these models available would make a big difference in how my students are exposed to anatomy. Being able to physically manipulate the organs and put the puzzles together will provide them with a better understanding of human anatomy. Being able to use the manipulatives and the visual aids will make learning more fun and meaningful allowing the students to better retain the information learned. Who knows, your gift might make a young child decide that they want to become a doctor in the future.
Because of all the budget cuts, our school is not able to provide these awesome materials to our students.
Having these materials available would make my anatomy lessons so much more exciting. My students will develop a love for science beyond the anatomy unit that these materials are going to be used for. I want to awaken in the the curiosity to experiment and explore, and I want to teach them that learning about science is fun.
