Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in grades nine through twelve, plus additional years of vocational transition (ages 15-21). We are a small, public school tucked away in the beautiful mountains. We are avid outdoor adventurers, and our lessons are geared towards Community-Based Vocational Instruction (CBVI).
My Project
My students participated in their first high school-sanctioned varsity sport and have earned a Varsity Letter.
My students participated for their first time in a high school-sanctioned Varsity Sport.
Jared was our student that partnered with our students with disabilities to make it a Unified Team.
Our state has recognized the importance of including all students in extracurricular activities.
My students placed 6th place in our region in the state of Colorado. Our team only had one month to practice, so we're looking forward to next year's competition.
My student's families cannot afford a letter jacket for their students. I believe that having their own letter jacket will give my students a sense of belonging; as well as recognition for their effort.
We would have a bowling patch, as well as their earned varsity pin, to add to their jacket, along with our school's logo and their name.
